Alana of the Land of Wind

Post  Alana on Sun Jan 11, 2009 12:14 am

Alana was an only child born to a man of Sunagakure and a woman of Konohagakure. Alana's father never passed the Chuunin tests to become a decent Shinobi and instead became a merchant who delved in trade between the Land of Fire and Land of Wind as he was a savvy individual and knowledgable in the pricing of goods and found it easy to network with those that would provide him good wholesale prices on popular goods. Shortly after marrying and having Alana the couple decided to settle near the lush forests between the Lands of Wind and Fire and Alana's father, with some basic knowledge of Wind Jutsu he used wind to cut trees down and cut them into pieces and planks suitable for creating puppets, to be used as building infrastructure, and many other practical uses and sold the wood in Sunagakure. Alana's mother, former Genin of Fire, set up camp in the forests; cooking meals and creating decent camping accomodations for weary travelers.

In her early years Alana spent much of her time with mom, helping out as best she could with her mother's work in providing bed and breakfast for travelers. In teaching Alana, her parents shared the load pretty evenly, mom instilling lessons of cooking, cleaning, personality, morality, and etiquette; her father taught her discipline, the "value of a ryo" so to speak, basic self-defense, social taboos and acceptable behavior. Though her parents are good people they do have their faults and the most influential one was their enabling Alana and took a mostly hands off approach beyond what they considered practical lessons which unfortunately aided in Alana's developing into somewhat of a clingy child who never decided for herself that it was time to begin leading her own life. In her late teens Alana's parents decided it was time to give her a shove in the direction of independence and sent her to Sunagakure to refine her studies as a resident in the Land of Wind.

Now Alana has enrolled in the Academy in Sunagakure, exhibiting a preference for explosive tags and katars.
