Issue Solved and Locked: Racism/Discrimination?

Somebody has to bring it up and I decided that it was time for me to take a stand. Even if it is for a person I personally dislike.

This persons character name is Thardo (Datton) Lyonson.

As we all know, his character got permad. Some people go like "Woo finally, he got it coming."

I just think this is sad basically because he has spent LOADS of time on the server. He has played even longer than myself. Now his character got permad and hes stuck with nothing...NOTHING in replacement. All the time he spent, all the tokens he earned was just in vein?

he did NOT get any tokens back, he did NOT even get the tokens his character was holding. He did NOT get any levels. He did NOT even get to maintain his rank on a new character.

I'd personally be pissed if this happened to me and I know all/many others would be too. Any DM that comes here and says "He agreed to the perma." should really think twice. Thardo went with the flow because of course he expected replacement and so would I. I've seen players who are close to the DMs, they get their chars deleted for no reason just so they could create a new one with a higher rank, higher level and a character with a bloodline. and they dont even pay squat for it (perhaps for the bloodline maybe). Is this a slight favouritism or is it just Racism/Discrimination?

I believe that you earn your things through hard work. Not by becoming DMs best friend and get drowned by bling bling and riches.


This is in no way flame against a specific person or a flame topic, this is critisism and I expect it to be a discussion about this rather than people going WW2 style propaganda and delete this post. Please do not delete this post.

When I read the title of this topic I thought I would see someone being Racially Discriminated against by use of words, or pictures (Since that's all you can do online) instead I see it used as a forefront for a perma-death complaint, and it hurts me to see such strong words misused.

Here's the Definition of Racial Discrimination :

Though the term racism usually denotes race-based prejudice, violence, discrimination, or oppression, the term can also have varying and hotly contested definitions. Racialism is a related term, sometimes intended to avoid these negative meanings. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, racism is a belief or ideology that all members of each racial group possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially to distinguish it as being either superior or inferior to another racial group or racial groups. The Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines racism as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular racial group, and that it is also the prejudice based on such a belief. The Macquarie Dictionary defines racism as: "the belief that human races have distinctive characteristics which determine their respective cultures, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule or dominate others."

So Unless Thardo was racially discriminated in-game due to his red skin and red wings, or you're trying to pin that the particular DM who did the Perma scenario is racist, Please save the term Racial Discrimination for people who are truly racially discriminated against since I highly doubt this has anything to do with Ethnic Groups.

The United Nations uses the definition of racial discrimination laid out in the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, adopted in 1966:

...any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, color, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.(Part 1 of Article 1 of the U.N. International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination)[8]
