Uchiha


The Sharingan (Sharingan; Literally meaning "Copy Wheel Eye", Meaning (Viz) "Mirror Wheel Eye") is a bloodline limit, or Kekkei Genkai, which appears in members of the Uchiha clan of Konohagakure. Some think that it was derived from the Byakugan many years ago. It allows the user to comprehend the attack of an opponent almost before the attacker knows what attack they are making. The Sharingan also allows the user to see the flow of chakra within a person, but to a lesser extent than the Byakugan.


Stages
When the Sharingan is first activated by the user, it has one to two tomoe around a central pupil. The wielder of the Sharingan, through continued use, evolves the Sharingan which involves gaining tomoe. The maximum number of tomoe in a conventional Sharingan is three. When the user gets three tomoe, he becomes able to predict all movement from his opponent. The only level up from there is the Mangekyo Sharingan, which is said to be gained by killing someone close to them. Kakashi, however, seems to have developed the Mangekyo Sharingan on his own.

Origins
The Sharingan is a special type of pupil condition that naturally occurs in all members of the Uchiha clan, though not all of them gain the ability to use it. Itachi hints at some dark ultimate purpose behind the Sharingan. Even though not confirmed, it has been revealed that the purpose of the Sharingan could be, to be able to control the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. The Sharingan is thought to be descended from the Byakugan, but grants the user different abilities and a different insight.

Abilities
The Sharingan's first and most well known ability is to memorize any technique that it witnesses. It can memorize ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with perfect accuracy, allowing the user to use the techniques as his own. In order to reproduce copied jutsu, however, one must have the necessary skill or ability to perform them. A prime example is Rock Lee's brand of taijutsu. While Sasuke was able to copy some of Lee's moves, they put a much more significant strain on him since he hasn't trained nearly as hard as Lee has. In addition to physical skill, the Sharingan cannot allow the user to reproduce other kekkei genkai since the Sharingan user doesn't possess the same genetic trait. Additionally, Sharingan users cannot summon a creature which they have not made a contract with.

The Sharingan also grants the user incredible clarity of perception, allowing them to track fast-moving objects with ease and even predict the subsequent movements of those objects. The ability to track and predict movement is largely based on individual skill, as unskilled users have much more trouble tracking fast-moving objects. A fully-evolved Sharingan eye can track all but the quickest opponents, even if the user can't move at the same speed, (so even if the user can follow his or her opponents movements it doesn't necessarily mean their body will be able to react fast enough even though they saw the attack coming). This perception is also great enough to see through genjutsu, depending upon the skill of the user, and the ability to observe the movement and flow of chakra, but not to the same extent or clarity as the Byakugan. Another ability of the Sharingan is the ability to see chakra as color, even through other objects. For example when Sasuke fights Deidara, he can see Deidara's bombs hidden under ground because of their chakra. Additionally, the Sharingan grants the user exceptional analytical powers, allowing them to instinctively pick up on various visual clues with little difficulty. In one instance, Kakashi had to shut his eyes to avoid accidentally reading Naruto's lip movements while he was spoiling the ending of one of Kakashi's Icha Icha books. Sasuke was also able to reproduce answers on another person's test by watching their pencil movements during the Chunin Exam.

The Sharingan also is capable of a unique brand of hypnosis that involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the opponent through simple eye contact. When used in conjunction with the other aspects of the Sharingan, this allows the user to perfectly mimic every move their opponent makes, even before they do, making it appear as if the user can see the future. More advanced Sharingan users can take the hypnosis ability even further by tricking or even trapping their opponent within an illusion. The potency of the Sharingan's illusion is dependent on the user's knowledge and skill with implementing Genjutsu.


Receiving the Sharingan
Unlike the Byakugan, the Sharingan does not automatically appear from birth in a user; instead, it will usually appear when the user is in a life-threatening situation, where the power of the Sharingan could save the user. After this first appearance, the user can then call up the Sharingan any time he or she pleases. Due to its unique nature, however, Kakashi's Sharingan cannot be deactivated, and thus he usually covers it to conserve chakra. The power of the Sharingan is judged through the number of tomoe in the eye, known as the "tomoe seal." It is not unheard of for a Sharingan user to have different amounts of tomoe in each eye. For example, Sasuke's Sharingan initially had two tomoe in one eye and one in the other. Upon his first regular activation of it, it had evolved to two tomoe in each eye. He evolved it to three in each eye during his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End. A fully-matured Sharingan has three tomoe in each eye.

Transplanting the Sharingan
It is possible to transplant Sharingan eyes from one person to another, as occurred with Kakashi and his deceased comrade Obito Uchiha. However, transplanted eyes do not work as well in a non-Uchiha body, causing more strain on the user, as is the case with Kakashi, extended use of his Sharingan will cause him to collapse. Uchiha clan members are not burdened with this weakness; while activation of the Sharingan does consume chakra, the drain is so small as to be insignificant. Itachi in particular seems to have no trouble keeping his Sharingan activated near-constantly.

Transplanting the Sharingan eyes from a living or deceased Uchiha is the only way to avoid the loss of sight over time from the Mangekyo Sharingan.


Mangekyo Sharingan

The Mangekyo Sharingan (Mangeky¨­ Sharingan; Literally meaning "Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye") is a heightened form of Sharingan. The Mangekyo Sharingan is distinguished from a normal Sharingan through its appearance, which changes the form of the tomoe seal. However, unlike the Sharingan, it has a different appearance between the users, as a kaleidoscope never looks the same when looked through. Kakashi's version is significantly different than Itachi's, as Madara's looks completely different, and his brother's looks different also. Those who have the potential to obtain it must make a great sacrifice in order to obtain it ¨C according to Itachi, they must kill their closest friend. Itachi, Madara, and his brother apparently do in fact do this to obtain the original version, but Kakashi has noted that everyone he cared about had died long before the start of the series, so how he developed his own variant is unknown. And apparently, the Mangekyo Sharingan can be transferred from person to person, as in the case with Sasuke. The major drawback of the Mangekyo Sharingan is that when it is first activated, it slowly begins to destroy the eyes until the user becomes completely blind. The only way to regain one's eyesight after losing it would be to steal the eyes of a sibling, combining the two Sharingan to create a new, more powerful, and immortal Mangekyo Sharingan which prevents blindness and might grant immortality.

In the long history of the Uchiha clan, only a few have been able to obtain the Mangekyo Sharingan-- Madara Uchiha being the first, and his brother being the second. At present in canon, there are three people alive who can use the Mangekyo Sharingan: Kakashi, Madara, and Sasuke.

The Mangekyo Sharingan appears to react in different ways for different ninja. Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan enabled him to use Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano'o. Madara Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan appears to allow him to utilize a powerful space / time teleportation jutsu similar in principal to the Flying Thunder God Technique but without any requirements for use. Kakashi's own version of the Mangekyo Sharingan allows him to use a space / time jutsu of his own in which he creates a localized dimensional warp, drawing everything in the immediate vicinity of the point into a singularity. Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan seems to possess information extracting abilities.

Jounin: 3 tomo, +4 to Attack/Defense +2 Stat mod to Wis/Dex, Crit Range 17-20, Glare

CP Costs
Genin: 5 CP, and 3CP per round to keep it active
Chuunin: 3 CP, and 2 CP per round to keep it active
Jounin: 2 CP, and then 1 CP per round to keep it active.

Fast Sight
Can see high speed movements with greater ease varying on the power and mastry of thier Sharingan.
Genin: +5 to spot
Chuunin: +10 to spot
Jounin: +15 to spot

Glare
When the Sharingan user has three tomo they can perform a Sharingan specific genjutsu. Requiring eye contact and using
wisdom for the roll. Damage is 1d20, Stuns for 1 round and costs 8 CP.

Sharingan Technique Mimicry
When Using the tech they can do one of three things; Copy, memorize, or Nullify

Memorize
Genin: Can copy D, and C rank ninjutsu, genjutsu, or stance based taijutsu (IE: Konoha Senpu ect ect, but not chakra molding techs like Chakra focus legs and such)
Chuunin: Can copy D, C, and B rank ninjutsu, genjutsu, or stance based taijutsu (IE: Konoha Senpu ect ect, but not chakra molding and such)
Jounin: Can copy D, C, B, A rank ninjutsu, genjutsu, or stance based taijutsu (IE: Konoha Senpu ect ect, but not chakra molding and such)
Memorizing takes chakra equal 1/2 the cost to the jutsu used.

Copy
Uses the jutsu the target is using in defense as long as it is not a clan tech/jutsu above their level making the defense roll instead damage vs damage... the loser takes the difference. -4 DC to learn it for 3 days. Bonus fades if it isnt learned in the time period.

Nullify
(genjutsu only)
The target's genjutsu is nullified as the user peirces through it with Sharingan's ability to see through chakra.
It costs 3 CP to nullify. Visual dojutsu genjutsu cannot be nullified, but they get +4 to rolls in defense against visual dojutsu when using the nullify option.


Mangekyou Sharingan

+5 to attack/defense
Crit Range: 16-20
costs 5 CP to activate, and then 3CP each round active

Mangekyou Sharingan user's can unlock 3 user specific jutsu using the eye. they are powerful moves and using them repeatedly will cause blindness over time.
Using a mangekyou jutsu costs 13 CP. and the user rolls blindness check after every 10 times they use a mangekyou move.

Mangekyou expands further on the Mimicry technique.

Can memorize D,C,B, and A rank ninjutsu, genjutsu, or stance based taijutsu (IE: Konoha Senpu ect ect, but not chakra molding and such)
at chakra equal to the 1/2 the cost of the jutsu used.

The sharringan can copy jutsus not of the Sharingan User's element. However, casting jutsus that aren't of your element, cost more cp:

Kyouten Chiten
Mirror Heaven and Earth Change

Kyouten Chiten is a Genjutsu technique unique to the Uchiha bloodline Sharingan holders. Using the copy and counter functions of the Sharingan eye, the Uchiha clan member can stop the sensory spell cast on their body and reverse it back on their opponent.

Done in defense. Must have Sharingan activated. Wis v.s casted genjutsu. With a Sucess, the genjutsu is flipped around onto the original caster. The original caster makes a save of a DC natural 17, no mod..or the genjutsu takes effect on themselves.
